The Anthropology of Animals

This course introduces multispecies studies - a field of research and writing that examines nonhuman life forms as objects of analysis and as beings with relevant social, biological, and political lives. We will explore how multispecies scholars engage with nonhumans across multiple dynamic worlds utilizing a range of classic and emerging theoretical frameworks.
