(Counter-)Culture in Contemporary China

The course surveys the cultural landscape of contemporary China, with a strong focus on the lived experiences, voices, perspectives, and perceptions of underprivileged and marginalized communities in that country. These topics are examined through the lens of traditional and popular (counter-)culture as well as social justice and equality. Prereq: Soph, Jr or Sr standing.
