This course surveys enduring debates within the American constitutional order. The course connects primary texts from the eras of the Founding and Reconstruction to subsequent debates regarding the construction of American law and society. Topics to be considered include the possibilities for constitutional amendment, and the constitutionality of college admissions policies.
