This course offers a critical analysis of the multiple relations of science to society, with an emphasis on knowledge, power, authority, values, and ethics. We will sharpen our analytical skills by discussing a broad range of historical and contemporary examples as they relate to race, ethnicity, gender, global capitalism, and politics. Prereq: English 1110, or GE foundation writing and info literacy course. Not open to students with credit for 2341.
