This course will explore conflict in the Horn of Africa, a region that has been embroiled in interlocking civil wars, ethnic and religious conflicts, territorial disputes, and the disintegration of the nation states for many years. It will examine the root causes, the nature, and the impact of these conflicts on local communities as well as their regional and international implications. Prereq: English 1110.xx, or permission of instructor.
