  I had great success working with Ms. Chen as my research advisor for CSE4998 (selected here as CSE5194). She is incredibly understanding and accessible. She provides the resources and means to continue the project, from little things, such as links to relevant papers, to personal Zoom calls with experts for review and questions.

  Jian is single handedly the most incoherent and incompetent instructor I've ever had the misfortune of taking a class with. Lectures are a disorganized messy ball of information that has no cohesion with anything else. Homework asks for vague arbitrary things, and the questions she asks in class aren't any better. Avoid her and take something else.

  I don't think she knows anything about what she's talking about. In fact I marvel at her idiocy every class. It truly a testament to how much one can fail upwards. She doesn't understand the simplest of explanations, never has a clear deadline, and barely understand her research.

  I've never met a more disorganized person in my life. She changes the project requirements the day the project is due, then makes students fight to get an extension because they now have to work extra hours on an assignment they thought was done. She is not helpful at all and doesn't actually answer questions. I'm convinced she's never even coded.

  Not helpful or understanding, especially to students who are struggling Gives tons of extra credit to the few students who are able to complete the assignments while students like me get failing grades and are forced to drop out
