This was one of the most frustrating classes I have ever taken. Absolutely zero organization and awfully boring/tedious lectures. Impossible to get ahold of and randomly canceled class. Ultra specific quizzes that were impossible to study for. Took the entire last half of the semester to grade the midterm. Sweet old guy but should NOT be teaching.

Professor Graf is a nice guy, but if you don't like long lectures I do not recommend this class. His lectures last the entire class (and sometimes over). That being said, if you are really passionate about Roman religion and want to learn more, take this class! He also grades heavily on about 4-5 quizzes, a midterm, and a final exam.

Lectures are boring and all over the place - hard to follow/can't participate. Slides are confusing and include many typos. Can't learn material. Not communicative about schedule/things in general. Only grades you will receive in this class are from quizzes and 2 essays that are worth 30% of your grade EACH. Nice guy, but difficult to understand.

Bunch of quizzes made up 10%, then a paper was 40% and the final was 50%. Super nice guy who clearly loves what he teaches, but it was very scary to have so much of the grade on a paper he barely talked about/that there wasn't even a rubric for. Classes were super boring with no participation, if he asked questions and discussed it'd be way better

The course was fascinating but poorly structured. It could have been a little better put together in terms of grouping topics; possibly into units. The lectures were fun and very interesting, but beware that the readings were very necessary in order to understand the lectures. Fun if you are willing to put the work in.
